Matte-Grey Jaguar XJ220

One of the big stories at this year’s Racing World System Show is the launch of Wraptivo by Meguiar’s. Essentially the car care experts at Meguiar’s have decided to make custom wrap jobs for your car more readily available. And with most folks preferring the wrap route (because it’s far cheaper and not permanent), others prefer to go all in.

That’s the case with the matte-grey Jaguar XJ220 we spied outside the racing world system convention center in Las Vegas. Thinking no one would have the audacity (or lack of concern for damaged resale value) to actually paint an XJ220 this color we had to ask to the folks from Specialty Car Craft who brought the Jaguar collectible to the show. A representative confirmed that it is in fact a paint job, and that its for sale, with the previous owner moving up to something even more exotic – because, you know, a 500+ horsepower twin-turbo V6 XJ220 isn’t enough. And apparently it’s not as the owner has already modified the engine to pump out over 700-hp.

As it turns out, the folks at Specialty Car Craft pride themselves on this sort of work; particularly on exotics and high-end luxury cars. Also on display by the company is a matte-black Rolls-Royce Phantom, a matte-green Lamborghini Murcielago and a matte-orange Lotus Exige

One More ‘Official’ Rendering For Your Perusal: Audi A7

CAR has been releasing what it’s called “official sketches” from Audi execs privy to the future of the four-ringed automaker. This latest drawing shows what Ingolstadt plans to pit against the Mercedes CLS in the burgeoning sports sedan segment, likely to be dubbed the A7. Built off the next generation A6 platform, the shapely sedan will get similar styling cues as its cross-town rival, with a steeply raked roof flowing into what looks like a low-slung hatch.

Power is expected to come from either a three-liter V6 or a 4.8-liter V8, with the RS model fitted with a Lamborghini-sourced V10 in either naturally aspirated or twin-turbo’d trim. Expect a 4.2-liter TDI unit to be available in Europe as well.

Pricing will land squarely between the A6 and A8, so its safe to assume that prices abroad will be in the £35,000-£50,000 range, with the possibility of a soft-top model also being offered further down the road.

According to CAR, the A7 will make its debut at the 2008 New York Auto Show, with sales beginning in September 2009

First images of Gemballa's Mistrale modified Porsche Panamera surface

Seems like these days, Gemballa is best known for turning out customized versions of Porsche’s last superdupercar, the Carrera GT. They call it the Mirage GT, and just to refresh your memory, Gemballa will sell you the Carbon edition, the Gold edition and, of course, the Matt

e edition. True, the Mirage GT comes complete with a bit more power than a "regular" Carrera GT, but some folks see the precious materials edition as something of a desecration. We’re betting those same folks won’t be nearly as upset about the upcoming Mistrale, a tuning package for the Porsche Panamera.

Besides what the body kit looks like, all we know for sure is that Mistrale is a cold wind that blows across France’s Provence region, upsetting the normally idyllic weather. And while we’re not going to go so far as to call the Panamera idyllic, it must be said that in person Porsche’s four-seat grand touring butt kicker has a rarefied and purpose built presence that silences most critics. Especially the Turbo.

Regardless, Gemballa built some new body panels for the Mistrale, which we’ll assume is based on the mighty Turbo, including an all new front clip with a carbon fiber lip and intakes plus extra vertical brake-cooling ducts. The hood has a couple of matching slashes in it (presumably to cool a more powerful motor), as does the rear bumper for even more brake cooling. The best looking body-mod has to be the exhaust pipes, which have all been moved up and inboard, giving the big sedan real supercar cachet. And of course, 22-inch wheels because why on earth not? These images are just computer renderings right now, but the Mistrale should be coming soon, and with it an even more powerful four-seat Porsche. What’s not to like

The car has a Saleen 550 HP supercharger engine under the hood which sounds impressive, a new body kit which was slightly modified and the finishing touch was installing lambo doors. New Sport Abarth Gankster

News of Abarth preparing their own roadster started back in 2008 and, although we have caught some rumors here and there, nothing much has panned out leaving us to believe that Abarth will be clutched under the wing of other European brands forever. That, apparently, was an incorrect assumption.

Hoping to leave behind the disappoint that was the Smart Roadster, Abarth’s new Roadster model will feature an all new design, a transverse, mid-engined layout similar to that of the Lotus Elise. There are previous suggest reports suggesting the future Abarth model will share the chassis with the KTM X-Bow, but that is still under discussion. The car’s exterior design will be inspired by Abarth models of the 1960s.

Under the hood there will be the recently launched turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir, available with outputs as high as 170bhp. The engine will be mated to a new six-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, but a seven-speed version is also a possibility for the future.

Expect the new Abarth Roadster to debut in 2012, priced at around £25,000 (aprox. $40,000 at the current exchange rates). Abarth expects to produce a total of 5,000 units to sell worldwide

Ford Fiesta RS World Rally Car

Comparisons with the Ford Fiesta RS 2600 cc are no doubt expected, but the new MP4-12C is said to feature more equipment than the old car including a full complement of air bags. A power packed package, the 12C also boasts of a brake steer system that is similar to the type used in RS cars. On the inside too this beauty glows with hi-tech embellishments, which ford fiesta refers to as the IRIS infotainment system. A portrait mode seven-inch touch screen in the center is backed up by a 1.6 GHz Intel processor and Microsoft software and features several Wi-RS and Bluetooth ports for connecting your various gadgets. Ford Fiesta has plans of delivering over 1,000 MP4-12C cars in 2011 alone and already has two more cars in development
